[I'm in a tunnel - Script]

IT'S NOT THAT DEEP

EXT. ROCHDALE CANAL TOEPATH. / EXT. CAR PARK. - SPLIT SCREEN - DAY

As the city barricades itself from contagion and the people stay in their homes, Kate steps to anxiety ridden streets on a quest to clear her mind. She walks parralell with the geese that torment mancunion waters. Her phone begins to ring. Its Rosanne.

KATE

(Answering her phone)

Sweet angel love of life and giver of all that is pure!

Rosanne is lay in her car boot basking in sunshine as she ponders upon the twists and turns the past month has presented. She waits for Kate to answer her phone.

ROSANNE

Oh hey girl! It's so nice to talk to you.

KATE

Tell me about it, how are you?

ROSANNE

I'm okay! I've had a really great few days but today I'm on less of a high. Overall, good! what about you?

KATE

(distracted)

I'm in such a long, dark tunnel. I can't see the end of it.

ROSANNE

Oh, girl! Are you okay? Do you think you know what could be making you feel this way?

KATE

(Having burst into laughter)

Oh, no, babe, I'm literally in a tunnel. Like on the canal. I found the end don't worry I made it out unscathed.

ROSANNE

(now also in fits of laughter)

Wow. I took that deeply.

KATE

We do that a lot don't we? It's not that deep.

ROSANNE

(still laughing)

I suppose it's good to remember that.

The two carried on about their day discussing how it doesn't always serve them to interpret the world in its most emotional sense. Thing's can be just as they seem at surface level. They vowed to try and reserve emotional energy by not deep diving into multi-complex hidden meanings of surface level situations.
