Service Description
Rosanne offers a space to compassionately heal and safely embody, through the combination of Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY) and Somatic Movement Education (SME- techniques developed by Thomas Hanna). This 1-1 healing practice guides you to safely embody at your own pace, coming back home to yourself through curiosity, compassion and choice. Rosanne's background in these modalities will help individuals to connect to their bodies (safely - feeling embodied), feel in the present, promote relaxation and befriend the nervous system. Somatic movement exercises compliment this type of yoga as it is slow, conscious, gentle, and offers a deeper layer of awareness to the tension we hold in our bodies, and perhaps the trauma we hold in our bodies. What is TIY? Trauma Informed Yoga is a practice of self enquiry and learning as you are invited to explore grounding, curiosity, self regulation, understanding your nervous system and your window of tolerance. Rosanne offers an open, non-judgmental, compassionate space to resource and connect to finding safety in your own body. This is a collaborative process, so sessions may not be what is usually considered as regular yoga. More Info - www.gohyoga.com/single-post/what-is-tiy What is SME? ​Somatic Movement Education is a practice that invites you to slow down, be curious to learn more about your posture, holding patterns and where you hold tension as you explore releasing tension through slow and gentle movement. As you become more aware of your body and understand the tension held in the body, you will learn how to regain voluntary control over your movements and reset resting tension. All movements are slow, gentle and mostly on the floor. You are invited to focus on learning and curiosity rather than the end goal. Note there may be little to no visual demonstration as you are invited to notice how movement feels in your own body. PRE-REQUISITES: - Free discovery/intake call - Intake form PLEASE NOTE: - PLEASE ALLOW 5 MINS SET UP TIME PRIOR TO CLASS - SME may not be suitable for pregnant women as Rosanne is not pre-natal trained - Via Zoom - you will need a camera and enough space so that are visible - You will need a yoga/exercise mat or a rug to be comfortable lying down - While session is scheduled for 1 hr, please leave time/space afterward to process the practice. Policies & Agreements: Schedule Sessions: Payment and pre-scheduling of sessions must be made at least 1 week prior to first lesson to ensure the preferred slot is available. Cancellation Policy: Payment is taken to confirm your booking. Payment is non-refundable but if you need to cancel for any reason, please do so 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. You will then be offered to reschedule. After 24 hours, there will be no rescheduling, you will loose that session and if you wish to book again, you will need to pay for another appointment. You can discuss this with Rosanne and it is at her discretion for any exceptions. Policy Agreement: · Lessons are transferable and not refundable. Classes cancelled with a 24 hr notice period can be rescheduled. Less than 24 hrs notice period is at Rosanne’s discretion. · Sessions are non-refundable. Classes cancelled on the day (or less than 24 hour notice period) will be charged full price. · It is the clients (class participants) responsibility to inform Rosanne of any medical conditions, injuries (old or new), recent pregnancy or operations, anything that would affect the clients ability to practice yoga. Please note, Rosanne cannot prescribe treatment or diagnose medical conditions, so clients should consult with GP should any medical condition arise.
