Celebrating ESEA (East and South East Asian) Heritage Month - Zos & Yen (YesLah) and Rosanne (Goh Yoga) invite you to an evening of wellness, connection, sharing of cultures, games & activities and exploration of yummy ESEA dishes!
We invite you to nourish your mind, body and soul through the practice of mindful movement on chairs and the exploration of sound relaxation with Goh Yoga. Take the time just to be and relax with the soothing sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls before having a meet up with others to celebrate ESEA heritage month.
18:30 - Arrival
Settling into the evening and space. First things first - Names...
We ask that you write your names or who you wish to be for the night on a sticky label!
Meeting people for the first time can be exciting and also anxiety inducing. Rosanne will guide you through a grounding session to settle in, connect to body and calm your mind. This practice of mindful movement on chairs will explore breathwork, meditation and a soundscape of soothing sounds including Tibetan Singing Bowls.
Relax, connect and arrive into the evening, no experience is required, accessible for all. Optional - Please bring a cushion with you.
After your mindful session with Rosanne, enjoy a delicious Asian supper from Yes Lah to chat over delicious food and network! This is perfect for anyone who may wants to meet new people or have just moved to the city. We will also have activities to break the ice and also break up the evening between your mindful session with Rosanne and food from us. While you eat, chat, share your love for food, ESEA Experiences or just want to meet new people, you will be invited to play some games, join in a few activities to spark conversations and uplift the vibes for a fun evening!
About YesLah x Goh Yoga Collaboration
Rosanne, Zos and Yen are just newly collaborating, excited for future collaborations. When the vibe is right you've got to make those connections!
Rosanne Goh's from Chinese heritage has always been interested in holistic health. From the early days of her mother telling her not to eat too much 'heaty' foods, to strong smelling herbs from an ancient looking bottle. She has always been interested in how to look after our wellbeing through mind, body, energy and nature. She has been teaching yoga since 2016, she is passionate in sharing a yoga practice that offers choice to feel both empowered and embodied. Her intention is to hold a comforting space to ground, relax, feel in your own body, connected to your breath and take those moments out to relax and resource yourself.
Zosima (Mama Z) and Yen (Woks Cluckin) have been doing street food & pop up events since 2017 and met in 2018 during a summer residency in MCR. Over the years, they’ve helped each other out at events as colleagues and along the way, they ended up forming a great friendship. Said friendship was forged over consistently great food, family and a lot of laughs (you can always hear Yen’s from miles away!)
Yes Lah is an amalgamation of their personalities and heritages; Yen is from Malaysia and Zosima is from the Philippines. The menu is curated in a way that evokes nostalgia from both of heritages and their favourite childhood dishes, but with their own twists.
Sharing food is what they ultimately love doing and they are so happy to be doing! Join Rosanne and Yes Lah for ESEA Heritage month, an evening of sharing space, practice, commonalities and love for food!
