Surrender & Acceptance

Mantra of the Week - "Today I am present, accepting it day by day and minute by minute if that's where I'm at. I accept today's truth. Where lies peace. To live presently. I open my body up to acceptance" 


Acceptance is an important spiritual principle. It doesn't mean we're throwing our hands up in defeat or allowing ourselves to be a door mat. It means we allow ourselves to experience what is now. Without acceptance, we cannot be with what is presently in-front of us clearly.Instead, we may get caught in an overwhelming depressing, anxious cycle of what is the point, what if this, what about this, and when this?


COVID-19 has hit hard for a lot of us and it's all good in being grateful, positive and to see the good. AND IT'S ALSO OKAY to feel this is SHIT! Personally, being self-employed who enjoys the connections of real life humans, being out and about it, planning events and not being a phone person - it has hit me hard financially, mentally and socially. Quite frankly I am fed up (without going on a waffle on the hows and whys, most likely you have been on the corona-coaster too?). This volatile 'new normal' challenges us to change constantly. We either change with it, adapt or we accept and let go.


My resolution, do what I know - go within. After taking the time to practice being still, moments of being present through my yoga practice, surrendering and becoming aware of how the stress in my mind is trapped in my body physically. I moved into to all the spaces my body felt trapped and tight the way I feel and I LET GO. I am done with hoping things to look normal, or waiting for positive outcomes; not because I've lost my optimism but because it doesn't serve me anymore, its exhausting. Instead I am accepting this new normal which changes day by day. Going with the ebb and flow and letting go of what isn't within my control. Letting go of the guilt, anger, stress, anxiety, control of things I cannot. I love presently and I let floooooowwww...
