Service Description
Rosanne offers space to compassionately and safely embody, through Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY) and Somatic Movement Education (SME). ​Somatic Yoga is a combination of TIY (Trauma Informed Yoga) principles and SME (Somatic Movement Education) techniques developed by Thomas Hanna. This 1-1 healing practice guides you to safely embody at your own pace, coming back home to yourself. Rosanne's background in these modalities will help individuals to reconnect to safety within the body, feel grounded, promote relaxation, curiously explore where tension is held in the body, and offer release and regulation. This practice invites you to slow down, be curious to learn more about your posture, holding patterns and where you hold tension as you explore releasing tension through slow and gentle movement.  These sessions invite you to cultivate safety within your body, explore slow and conscious movements to become more aware of your body, understand the tension held in the body and learn how to regain voluntary control over your movements. ​Please note this class may not be suitable for pregnant women as Rosanne is not pre-natal trained. All movement is slow and gentle and mostly on the floor. You are invited to focus on learning and curiosity rather than the end goal. Note there will be little to no visual demonstrating as you are invited to notice how movement feels in your own body. Pre-requisite: - Free discovery/intake call - Intake form What to expect: - PLEASE ALLOW 5 MINS SET UP TIME PRIOR TO CLASS - Via Zoom - you will need a camera and enough space so that I can see you clearly. - Please fill out form so Rosanne can get an idea on how your movement might be affected by your daily habits/life -Most of the practice is on the ground - so you will need a yoga/exercise mat or a rug to be comfortable lying down. Policies & Agreements: Schedule Sessions: Payment and pre-scheduling of sessions must be made at least 1 week prior to first lesson to ensure the preferred slot is available. Cancellation Policy: Payment is taken to confirm your booking. Payment is non-refundable but if you need to cancel for any reason, please do so 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. You will then be offered to reschedule. After 24 hours, there will be no rescheduling, you will loose that session and if you wish to book again, you will need to pay for another appointment. You can discuss this with Rosanne and it is at her discretion for any exceptions. Policy Agreement: · Lessons are transferable and not refundable. Classes cancelled with a 24 hr notice period can be rescheduled. Less than 24 hrs notice period is at Rosanne’s discretion. · Sessions are non-refundable. Classes cancelled on the day (or less than 24 hour notice period) will be charged full price. · It is the clients (class participants) responsibility to inform Rosanne of any medical conditions, injuries (old or new), recent pregnancy or operations, anything that would affect the clients ability to practice yoga. Please note, Rosanne cannot prescribe treatment or diagnose medical conditions, so clients should consult with GP should any medical condition arise.
